Mold, often referred to as the 'Silent Killer,' encapsulates our family's journey. Months of mysterious health declines finally led us to the truth: Toxic Mold. Unfortunately, this silent intruder forced our family's captain, Jay, a Commercial Airline Pilot, into an unexpected holding pattern.
Jay, equipped with a deep understanding of mold and its dangers, pursued credentials as a certified residential/commercial mold inspector and is also an active member of the National Association of Mold Remediators and Inspectors (NAMRI), a testament to his commitment to the highest standards of mold inspection and remediation practices.
But our secret weapon, and our number one tool, is Bailey, our certified mold detection dog. Bailey's finely tuned nose and remarkable expertise in detecting mold make her an invaluable member of the Seattle Mold Dog team. Jay's credentials and experience only serve to assist and complement Bailey's exceptional abilities.
Experiencing firsthand the devastation brought by Toxic Mold and the lack of truthful inspection practices, we birthed Seattle Mold Dog. Our mission is to ensure others don't suffer in silence, providing honest and thorough mold detection services. With Bailey's unparalleled skills and Jay's expertise, we are determined to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those facing the challenges of toxic mold.

Though retired from mainstream law enforcement, Matt's dedication continues as he now serves as the Explosives Detector Dog Administrator for a federal agency. His wealth of experience and commitment to excellence ensures that Bailey is an exceptional Mold Detection dog, surpassing all standards.
In her mold-specific training, Bailey was meticulously taught to detect the subtle yet dangerous presence of mold spores in various environments, including hidden or hard-to-reach places. This specialized training equipped her with the skills to identify mold with precision, even in cases where visual or traditional methods of detection might fall short. "Highly recommend Jay and Bailey from Seattle Mold Dog if you are in PNW. Jay went above and beyond for us. He was meticulous and detailed in his inspection and report. Bailey did her job like the pro she is." - Dave Fox: Bend, Or.
“We hired Jay to find mold in our home after I was diagnosed with mold toxicity. We had a traditional inspector come out before Jay to inspect our home. The inspection that Jay provided was incredibly thorough and informative. He and Bailey identified numerous areas in our home with active mold that the traditional inspector wasn't able to find, including areas with Stachy and Chaetomium. Jay has continued to stay in touch with us about our remediation plans and ongoing testing and has provided extremely valuable advice even after our inspection was complete.” Leslie Kincaid: Seattle, Wa
“Amazing experience with Jay Tarnove and Bailey today.
I highly recommend having Jay and Bailey to inspect your environment with mold.
This was a follow up to our mold inspection with a top inspector in the area. We now know some additional problem areas that did not come up with traditional testing.’m so glad I had Jay and Bailey help us. He had excellent recommendations and has been through much of the same things we experience with care and empathy. This is so hard to find these days - we have all experienced enough gaslighting, mold is everywhere, it’s not that bad, yadda, yadda, yadda.
So it was refreshing to hear that yes, even though this isn’t the worst mold, it’s enough to make you ill, it’s real, you aren’t imagining it!“ - Christie Kay Arlington, Wa
“I did Seattle Mold Dog Bailey and I had a really good experience. Jay the owner is an amazing human, he started this business because of his own mold experience. He stays with you during the process of next steps and takes feedback from you every step of the way, also providing recommendations. I think it’s a pretty all inclusive service and worth the cost” - Lindsey Arrington: Everette, WA
